What started as a one-man operation in a garage has grown into Austin’s most trusted electrical company. Our founder, Michael Vasquez, a Master Electrician with over 20 years of experience, built Bright Spark on the principles of transparency, safety, and respect for every home we enter.
Today, we remain a family-run business. Michael’s son, David, joined as a licensed journeyman in 2018, and our tight‑knit team of 12 electricians shares the same commitment to old‑school service with modern expertise.

2011
Michael Vasquez obtains his Master Electrician license and founds Bright Spark Electric in South Austin.
2015
Awarded “Best Electrician in South Austin” by the Austin Chronicle. Team grows to 5 electricians.
2018
Expanded service to cover all of Travis County. Added 24/7 emergency response with a dedicated dispatch line.
2022
Opened a new office on S Lamar Blvd to better serve downtown and West Austin. Hired 3 additional journeymen.
Today & Beyond
We’ve completed over 8,500 projects, maintain a 4.9-star rating, and continue to invest in training and the latest diagnostic tools. Our mission remains unchanged: provide Austin with electrical work that’s safe, reliable, and fairly priced.
